Healthy recipe: Panna Cotta with Red Fruits with No added sugars

We are inspired by beautiful Italy today, to bring you one of the most typical desserts in the country: panna cotta. A simple sweet, typical of the Piedmond region, with a texture similar of a custard but made of milk and cream as the main ingredient.

Besides being delicious, it stands out for its nutritional value, since it contains calcium, magnesium, iron and vitamins such as A, D, C and B group. Normally it is accompanied by red fruit jam; we suggest you use our variety of Extra jam without added sugars. Doing so, we get to enjoy its important amounts of calcium, protein, magnesium, phosphorus and vitamins A, B9, C and K and counteract the amounts of sugars in traditional jams so you can eat as much as you want.

Ingredients

350ml of liquid cream wigh 35% fat

200ml of whole milk

40g of icing sugar

10g of gelatin in sheets (4 units)

A vanilla bean

1 tablespoon grated lemon zest

60g of Extra 0% added sugars Low sugar Jam

Preparation

To make the cream: soak the gelatine sheets in cold water until they are rehydrated. Heat the liquid cream with the whole milk, the vanilla bean and a little of lemon zest. When it starts to boil, add the sugar and stir. Drain the rehydrated gelatin sheets and add them to the warm mixture. Dilute the gelatin and stir until there is a smooth cream.

It is convenient to filter out the previous mixture in order to avoid traces of gelatin or lemon and also to remove the vanilla bean. Then pour it into the glasses where we are going to serve the panna cotta, cover each glass and put them in the fridge for at least 8h to make sure it sets perfectly. When serving, add a few tablespoons of jam to taste. Another option is trying sandwiching panna cotta layers with jam layers to get a better presentation.

As you can see, it is an easy recipe that requires a few ingredients and steps to carry it out. So, it is also a good plan to send a fun afternoon cooking with the family.
